Fixtures and fittings are any items that can not be moved. Unlike furniture items, they are fixed or fitted to the property. This covers a wide variety of items such as walls, ceilings, curtains, carpets, baths, showers, built-in-warobes, kitchen units or shelving.
As with other aspects of property care, damage that occurs through normal and natural use of the fixtures, e.g. screws becoming loose on a cupboard door, will be the Owner’s responsibility to maintain. Other damage, for example that occurs through user error, misuse, or unnecessary force, e.g. slamming door very hard and causing the frame to break, will be your liability as the Guest to pay for.
We will investigate using the photos and videos provided in the form what the nature of the problem is, and if needed get professional help to determine the cause and the best solution. Then dependent on the liable party agreeing to the costs and the availability of materials, the issue will be resolved. There are very few fittings problems that take longer than 7 days to resolve.
For relatively simple issues like a light bulb change, or a few screws to be tightened on a cupboard door, yes feel free to do this yourself. However, some modern flats may have high ceilings, or otherwise difficult to reach fittings.
